Who this is for
Anyone billing for services who hasn't found a specialty template that fits. Pet groomers, fitness trainers, personal chefs, music teachers, life coaches, IT support — anyone who performs a service for a fee and wants a clean PDF.
What every service invoice needs
A specific description. "Service rendered" is not specific enough. Even one line should say what was done: Dog grooming — full groom, bath, nails (8 lb mini poodle).
Date of service. Either in the line description or in the Notes field. Without it, the customer can't match the invoice to a specific appointment.
Reference number (if any). Booking confirmation number, job number, PO number — whatever the customer used when arranging the work. Helps their bookkeeping match invoices to their internal records.
When to use a specialty template instead
Browse the templates index for these specialized templates if any apply to you:
- Photography work? Use the photography template for licensing clauses.
- Trade / on-site work? Use the contractor template or plumbing/HVAC template.
- Cleaning? Use the cleaning template.
- Time-tracked work? Use the hourly template.
- Retainer / advisory? Use the consultant template.

- Open the service template.
- Replace the single line with your actual service description and rate.
